Snickerdoodle Brownies

Well, it's been a week since I've last posted anything.  I used to love Labor Day weekend and all of the garage sales and the local Farmer's Pike Festival, but now this weekend serves only as a reminder of the anniversary of my baby brother's car accident that took his life back in 2008. He was in his early 20's had his entire life ahead of him.  I miss him so much.

Having said that, I tried another Pinterest recipe that sounded delicious (and something I thought my brother would have liked) and it's a recipe you will definitely want to drink with a glass of milk...here it is:

This is the completed product.
Doesn't look the best, but it was delicious!
SNICKERDOODLE BROWNIES

2 2/3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup butter, room temperature
2 cups brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla

Topping:
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Lightly grease a 9x13" baking pan.
In a large bowl: mix flour, baking powder, 1 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and salt.  Set bowl aside.
In a medium bowl: beat butter, eggs and brown sugar until blended, then add the vanilla.  Mix well.
Then add the contents of your medium bowl to your large bowl and stir until well mixed.
Spread the mixture evenly into the pan.  It will be a thick batter, almost the consistency of cookie dough.

Next, mix the toppings: 2 T sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle over top of the batter.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let cool, then enjoy with a big glass of milk!
